Real Madrid announce signing of Theo Hernandez from Atletico Madrid

Real Madrid have announced the signing of Theo Hernandez from local rivals Atletico Madrid.

The 19-year-old, who joined Atletico's academy in 2007, has penned a six-year contract at the Bernabeu.

The Champions League winners confirmed in a statement on their official website that Hernandez will be unveiled on Monday once he has completed a medical.

Reports in Spain have claimed that Real have paid €24m (£21m) for the defender's signature after triggering a release clause.

Hernandez spent last season on loan at Alaves.
