Real Madrid 3-0 Sevilla

Karim Benzema scored twice in the second half to help Real Madrid overcome the challenge of Sevilla at the Bernabeu this afternoon.

Los Blancos controlled the match from the start and had two chances to break the deadlock in the opening few minutes. However, neither Marcelo nor Esteban Granero were able to keep their efforts from inside the area on target.

Madrid's pressure eventually told in the 19th minute thanks to leading goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo, who collected possession from Benzema before stepping inside his marker and slotting the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the net from a tight angle.

Benzema and Ronaldo both had chances to extend the lead before the break, but both shot over the crossbar.

French international Benzema managed to get his name among the scorers three minutes after the restart when he converted a cross from Angel Di Maria.

He went on to conclude the scoring in the 52nd minute when he headed in a cross from full-back Sergio Ramos.

Jose Mourinho's side will be crowned champions of Spain for a 32nd time if Barcelona lose to Rayo Vallecano later this evening.
