Zinedine Zidane: 'No reasons for concern'

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane calls for "calm" after his side suffer a shock 1-0 home defeat to Real Betis.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has insisted that there is no need "to be concerned" after the club's shock 1-0 home loss to Real Betis last night.

A late goal from Antonio Sanabria stunned the reigning La Liga champions at the Bernabeu as they made it three home league games without a win.

The result represents their worst home run in more than six years and sees them fall seven points behind league leaders Barcelona, who have maximum points from their first five games.

"I do not think the situation is delicate," Zidane told reporters. "We have lost points, but there are also many matches left. All the work we have done is not going to be thrown in the trash because of three bad games at home.

"We have not been successful in the shots on goal. I am the coach of this team and what we need is calm, rest and to think about the next game.

"Today the ball did not want to go in. This is football. No need to review it again. It has not been a great match, but it has not been a bad match either. Last season, we won games that maybe we did not deserve and now it's the other way around. Tranquillity.

"I do not think there are any reasons to be concerned. Do not be worried."

Next up for Madrid is a trip to Alaves, who are yet to get on the board this season, on Saturday afternoon.
