Beckham 'denies reports of becoming Real ambassador'

David Beckham's representatives have reportedly rejected claims that he is on the verge of becoming a Real Madrid ambassador.

The 41-year-old has an affinity with the club having spent four years of his playing career at the Bernabeu.

Spanish newspaper Marca recently claimed that the retired England captain was set to become an ambassador and help grow commercial interest in the club in the United States.

Beckham is a well-known figure across the pond, having improved the MLS brand during a five-year spell at Los Angeles Galaxy.

However, according to The Mirror, the former Manchester United midfielder has no plans to take up an ambassadorial role with Madrid as he has not been contacted by the club regarding the position.

Beckham won the La Liga title and the Spanish Super Cup during his time at the Bernabeu.
