Gareth Bale not included in Wales's pre-Euro 2016 training squad

Gareth Bale is omitted from Wales's 29-man training squad ahead of this summer's European Championships.

Gareth Bale has not been named in Wales's 29-man training squad ahead of this summer's European Championships in France.

The 26-year-old was left out by manager Chris Coleman due to his commitments with Real Madrid, which include a title-deciding La Liga clash against Deportivo La Coruna and the Champions League final on May 28.

The Wales players will travel to Portugal for a training camp on May 23, and eight days later, Coleman will trim his squad down to 23 and those players will go to France for the Euros.

There were doubts over Joe Ledley's fitness after the midfielder limped off during Crystal Palace's 2-1 win over Stoke City at the weekend, but he has been included in the training squad.

Bristol City's Wes Burns is a newcomer to Coleman's squad as he joins six other forwards, including Sam Vokes, who scored the goal that sent Burnley back into the Premier League last week.

Once Wales's 23-man squad has been selected, the team will play Sweden in an international friendly in Stockholm on June 5 before their tournament opener against Slovakia six days later.
