Zinedine Zidane predicts "perfectly even" Champions League final

Zidane predicts "perfectly even" final

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has claimed that the Champions League final between his team and Atletico Madrid will be "perfectly even".

On Tuesday, Atletico overcame Bayern Munich to make their second Champions League final in three years, before Real Madrid set up a repeat of the 2014 final by moving past Manchester City on Wednesday night.

Zidane has admitted that his team 'had to suffer' to beat Man City 1-0 at the Bernabeu, but the Frenchman is now looking forward to a clash with Atletico in Milan on May 28.

"We suffered, we knew we'd have to. In the end we've made it and we're really happy. The players deserve this. The fans were with the players for the whole game and that always helps," Zidane told reporters.

"Cristiano [Ronaldo] played like he always does, but everyone worked hard and that's why we're in the final. I'm delighted for what has happened. The final will be perfectly even, but now we're going to enjoy this, it's an important day."

Real Madrid will continue their La Liga title challenge at home to Valencia on Sunday afternoon.
