Reading target Chelsea youngster?

Reading are interested in taking Chelsea defender Islam Feruz on loan in January, according to reports.

The 17-year-old moved to Stamford Bridge from Celtic last year after failing to agree a professional contract with the Scottish Premier League side.

Feruz has since impressed in Chelsea's youth team and he also scored twice for Scotland's Under-21 side against Portugal last week.

According to Clubcall, such performances have attracted the interest of Reading and Brian McDermott is believed to be ready to make a move for the defender in January.

Reading could face competition from Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon for Feruz's signature.
