Rangers boss Mark Warburton draws positives from defeat

Rangers boss Mark Warburton says that he is "very pleased" with aspects of his side's performance against Celtic in the Scottish League Cup semi-finals.

Rangers manager Mark Warburton has insisted that there were positives for his side to draw from their 1-0 defeat to Celtic in the Scottish League Cup semi-finals.

The former Brentford boss said that he was "very pleased" with aspects of the Gers' game and insinuated that his team was unfortunate to concede a last-ditch goal.

"[I'm] very pleased with many aspects," he told BT Sport. "Unfortunately it went the wrong way. A lot of positives. [The winning goal] is one of those things."

Rangers were put to the sword by an 88th-minute strike from Moussa Dembele, who netted a hat-trick against the Gers when the sides last met in the Scottish Premiership.

Celtic will play Aberdeen in the final, with the Dons having seen off Morton 2-0 in the last four of the competition.
