Paris Saint-Germain boss Unai Emery hails his team's composure in their 2-1 win over AS Monaco in the 2017-18 Trophee des Champions on Saturday night.

Paris Saint-Germain boss Unai Emery has paid tribute to his team's composure following their 2-1 win over AS Monaco in the 2017-18 Trophee des Champions on Saturday night.

Djibril Sidibe sent Monaco ahead in the 30th minute, but second-half goals from Dani Alves and Adrien Rabiot saw the French giants land the trophy for a fifth time in succession.

Emery claims that PSG "controlled the match", and says that his side "showed they know how to remain calm" after falling behind to the Ligue 1 champions.

"We saw two good teams - very different from each other but both with a lot of talent out on the pitch," Emery told reporters. "We controlled the match and we were good in the attacking phases even though they were dangerous on the counter.

"But we created a lot of dangerous situations. We wanted to continue playing our game and the team showed they know how to remain calm. That's very important."

PSG, who will open their league season at home to newly-promoted Amiens next weekend, have now won the Trophee des Champions on seven occasions.
