Arkadiusz Milik: 'We won't underestimate Northern Ireland'

Milik: 'We won't underestimate Northern Ireland'

Poland striker Arkadiusz Milik has said that he expects his team to produce a professional performance when they face Northern Ireland on Sunday evening.

Northern Ireland have been rated as outsiders to record a positive result in the Euro 2016 fixture in Nice, but Milik has insisted that there will be no complacency as Poland look to kick off their campaign with three points.

The 22-year-old is quoted by UEFA's official website as saying: "There is no way we will underestimate our opponents. First of all, Poland have never won a single game at a Euro final tournament. We did not win the World Cup two years ago, or the Euro four years ago. We have won nothing yet – nothing at all.

"Qualifying for the EURO was pretty cool for all of us, but sometimes you have to aim higher and keep setting new goals and there can be no disrespect for our opponents."

Milik is expected to start for Poland after scoring six times during the qualification campaign.
