Newcastle United's Tim Krul: 'I could stay for another 10 years'

Newcastle United keeper Tim Krul admits that he could stay at the Magpies for another 10 seasons after reaching his 10-year milestone with the club.

Newcastle United keeper Tim Krul has revealed that he could stay at the club for another 10 years.

The Netherlands international has been with the Magpies since 2005 when he joined the team's academy at the age of 17.

Krul became the club's starter in the 2010-11 season and has been an integral part of the side since, although he was linked with a move away from Tyneside at the start of the summer.

However, the 27-year-old believes that he could see himself still with the Magpies in 10 years' time because of his happiness at club.

He told Newcastle's official website: "Ten years is something to be really proud of. I don't think it's the sort of thing you will see too often in the game nowadays.

"It doesn't feel real that it's been this long. There have been some amazing highs, and some lows as well, but that is normal in football and all those experiences have shaped me into the person and the goalkeeper I am now.

"It's been an honour to play for such a fantastic club for that long, it's been a massive part of my life, and Newcastle United is like a second family to me. I love this club, and [could I stay 20 years?] I can't see why not."

Krul has made 176 appearances during his tenure with the Magpies.
