Football Association charges Middlesbrough's Cristhian Stuani

Middlesbrough striker Cristhian Stuani is facing a three-match ban after he receives a violent conduct charge from the Football Association.

The Football Association has charged Middlesbrough striker Cristhian Stuani with violent conduct.

The charge relates to an incident that happened during the second half of Boro's 1-0 win over Preston North End at the weekend.

Referee Oliver Langford did not see the Uruguayan's alleged act of wrong-doing, but it was caught on video.

As a result, Stuani is facing a three-match suspension if he is found guilty of the charge.

Promotion-chasing Boro, who face Reading tonight, have confirmed that they will lodge an appeal before today's 6pm deadline.
