Lukaku's move to Inter Milan under threat?

Inter Milan's move for Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku could reportedly be scuppered by Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations.

The Belgium international has hinted that he is looking to leave Old Trafford this summer and Inter have emerged as the frontrunners for his signature.

United are believed to be holding out for around £80m for the 26-year-old, however, which The Sun reports may rule the Nerazzurri out of the running.

Inter have supposedly been given until June 30 to raise £40m to comply with FFP rules, forcing them to look for bidders for some of their star players.

Only then can they consider making a formal approach for Lukaku, who has scored 42 goals in 96 appearances for United since joining from Everton two years ago, but the Red Devils want their transfer business sorted before the start of pre-season.

Paris Saint-Germain are also rumoured to be in the running to sign Lukaku.
