Marouane Fellaini hoping for David de Gea stay

Marouane Fellaini is hoping that Manchester United are successful in keeping David de Gea out of the clutches of Real Madrid.

Marouane Fellaini is hopeful that David de Gea will remain with Manchester United.

Widespread speculation over the last 24 hours has suggested that 24-year-old De Gea has decided to return to his native Spain with Real Madrid.

However, Fellaini is keen for the "great goalkeeper" to stay alongside him at Old Trafford.

"He's a great goalkeeper, he's improved a lot. I remember when he arrived in England and it's a big difference between then and now. I hope he will stay but in football you never know," the Belgium international told Goal.com.

It is believed that De Gea will make an announcement on his future once his international commitments with La Roja have come to an end later this month.
