Atletico Madrid lining up move for Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic?

Atletico Madrid have reportedly identified Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic as a potential January signing.

Since the beginning of the season, Matic has found himself down the pecking order at Old Trafford, making just six starts and one substitute outing in all competitions.

Speculation persists of a possible move to Inter Milan, who are currently managed by Antonio Conte, who worked with the Serbia international at Chelsea.

However, AS claims that Atletico boss Diego Simeone is interested in adding the 31-year-old to his squad at Wanda Metropolitano.

Despite just seven wins coming from 17 matches, Atletico currently sit in fifth position in the La Liga standings, seven points adrift of leaders Barcelona.

United have recently been linked with a bid for Saul Niguez, who may be allowed to leave the Spanish outfit in one of the upcoming windows.
