Marc Wilmots: 'Marouane Fellaini should quit Manchester United'

Belgium boss Marc Wilmots urges out-of-favour Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini to consider leaving the Red Devils.

Belgium coach Marc Wilmots has warned Marouane Fellaini that he might need to leave Manchester United this January in order to stay in contention for a Euro 2016 trip.

The 27-year-old midfielder has started just one Premier League game all season, and Wilmots concedes that his lack of minutes is not ideal from his perspective.

"A player who does not play for his club is annoying for a coach," he told Le Soir.

"Fellaini could play to support the attack, as the number six. He has very good technique, very good ability to track back and recover. Maybe he will try to find a new challenge in January, if it is possible."

Belgium sit top of the FIFA world rankings.
