Report: United back out on expansion plans

Manchester United have reportedly decided not to move ahead with their plans to increase the capacity of Old Trafford.

According to Goal.com, the Red Devils were keen to add an extra 15,000 seats to take the stadium capacity to just over 90,000.

The expansion would have taken place on the South stand where an extra tie would have been added.

However, it has now been reported that United owners the Glazers are not willing to meet the expansion cost that is estimated at £30m.

Old Trafford is the second-largest football stadium in England after Wembley.
