Anderson is ruled out of Manchester United's pre-season tour of the United States after suffering a calf injury in training.

Manchester United have confirmed that Anderson will not play any part in the club's pre-season tour after picking up a calf injury in training.

The Brazilian is widely expected to leave Old Trafford after spending last season on loan at Fiorentina.

However, the midfielder will be unable to impress new manager Louis van Gaal as he has been forced to withdraw from United's tour of the United States and remain at the club's Carrington training base.

The rest of the players, along with their new manager, flew out to Los Angeles today.
