Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic start for Manchester United in their League Cup clash with Manchester City.

Manchester United have made four changes from the side that was thrashed by Chelsea last weekend for this evening's League Cup clash with rivals Manchester City.

Manager Jose Mourinho has drafted in Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, Michael Carrick and Juan Mata for the local derby, while key players Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic keep their place in the starting XI.

Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling, Marouane Fellaini and Jesse Lingard have been dropped, and Wayne Rooney is still sidelined through injury.

City have made nine changes from their draw with Southampton - only Vincent Kompany and Leroy Sane remain from that side, while youngsters Aleix Garcia and Pablo Maffeo have been given the chance to impress.

Manchester United: De Gea; Valencia, Rojo, Blind, Shaw; Carrick, Herrera, Mata, Pogba; Rashford, Ibrahimovic
Subs: Depay, Lingard, Young, Romero, Fellaini, Schneiderlin, Darmian

Manchester City: Caballero; Maffeo, Kompany, Otamendi, Clichy; A Garcia, Fernando, Sane, Navas; Nolito, Iheanacho
Subs: Gunn, Gundogan, Sterling, Aguero, Adarabioyo, Fernandinho, Kolarov
