Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere to miss FA Cup quarter-final

Jack Wilshere will not recover from ankle surgery in time to play for Arsenal in their upcoming FA Cup quarter-final against Manchester United.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Jack Wilshere will not be fit for next Monday's FA Cup quarter-final away at Manchester United.

The midfielder recently underwent a minor procedure on his ankle that is not expected to keep him sidelined for too long.

However, Wenger has revealed that the tie at Old Trafford will come too soon for the 23-year-old.

"It takes some time to heal the wound after the surgery. It will take his a few days," the French boss told reporters.

"I don't set any dates, but what is for sure is that for Man United he will not be available."

Wilshere has made 16 appearances in all competitions this season.
