Fernandinho 'to get new Man City deal'

Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho will reportedly be offered a new deal by the club after impressing manager Pep Guardiola during his first few months in charge.

The 25-year-old moved to the Etihad on a four-year contract from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013 and has since gone on to make 105 league appearances for the Citizens, winning the Premier League title once and the League Cup twice.

According to The Mirror, Guardiola is a "big fan" of Fernandinho after his performances in the opening games of the season and is keen to tie him down to a new contract in short order.

The Brazilian's current contract expires at the end of the season, meaning that he will be free to talk to foreign clubs from January.

Speaking recently, Guardiola admitted that City's results so far this season, which saw them win their first six games to top the league, would have been "impossible without Fernandinho".
