Top 25 Manchester City players of the Premier League era - #4

Sports Mole's countdown of the top 25 Manchester City players from the Premier League era continues with number four - Yaya Toure.

Having been deemed surplus to requirements by Pep Guardiola at Barcelona, Yaya Toure moved to Manchester City in 2010 in a £24m deal which saw him join his brother Kolo Toure at the Etihad Stadium.

Yaya quickly set about proving that Barcelona's loss was City's gain, and by the end of his first season in England he had already written himself into club folklore with the winning goals in the FA Cup semi-final and final as City won their first trophy for 35 years.

One year later Toure helped the club to the Premier League crown, but it was his performances in the title-winning campaign of 2013-14 which really caught the eye as he scored 20 Premier League goals in 35 appearances.

Unsurprisingly, the Ivorian was named the club's player of the year that season, having also scored to help City to glory in the League Cup final - a trophy he would lift again two years later.

Guardiola's arrival at the Etihad Stadium raised questions over Toure's future and he looked to be on his way out of the club, but he has since fought his way back into contention and at the time of writing has scored 82 goals in 299 appearances for City, including 62 in 220 league outings.
