Martin Skrtel to Fenerbahce 'close to being finalised'

Martin Skrtel's £5m switch from Liverpool to Fenerbahce could be finalised prior to the start of next week, according to a report.

Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel will reportedly complete a £5m switch to Fenerbahce over the coming days.

The 31-year-old has been widely tipped to depart the Reds this summer after falling out of favour under Jurgen Klopp last season.

Fenerbahce announced earlier this week that talks had officially opened up between the two clubs, and it appears as though a deal is now close to being struck.

According to Sky Sports News, Skrtel's move to the Turkish Super Lig outfit could be finalised prior to next week following the centre-back's return from a short holiday.

Skrtel has spent eight seasons at Anfield since joining from Zenit St Petersburg, making 319 appearances for the club in all competitions during that time.
