Liverpool reportedly weigh up making a loan move for AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong.

Liverpool are reportedly considering a loan move for AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong.

Lucas Leiva was ruled out for two months on Tuesday with a knee injury, leaving manager Brendan Rodgers short of options.

According to the Daily Mail, the Reds boss is pondering making a loan move for the Dutchman to provide cover in the defensive midfield role.

It believed that De Jong could be tempted by a return to England despite being a regular for the struggling Milan.
