Daniel Sturridge claiming Liverpool's fourth goal against Everton

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge claims that the final goal in his side's 4-0 win over Everton should be awarded to him ahead of Philippe Coutinho.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has claimed that he should be awarded the final goal from his side's 4-0 drubbing of Merseyside rivals Everton this evening.

Sturridge started the match on the bench, but replaced the injured Divock Origi early in the second half and soon put his side 3-0 up against the 10-man visitors.

Philippe Coutinho then capped off the scoring, although the Brazilian's strike clipped Sturridge on the way through and the striker is in "no doubt" that it is his goal.

"Phil Coutinho's shot hit me so it's my goal, of course. No doubt," he told Sky Sports News.

"For me it is important to contribute as much as I can with goals and assists. When I came on I wanted to be on the scoresheet.

"It is frustrating not to play, for any player. We are in fantastic form."

Sturridge has now scored in five of his last six Premier League appearances.
