Claudio Ranieri hails Joe Dodoo following Rangers move

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri backs Joe Dodoo, who turned down a new deal at the King Power Stadium, to enjoy a successful career with Rangers.

Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri has backed Joe Dodoo to enjoy a successful career with Rangers after the 21-year-old completed a move to the Scottish giants.

Dodoo turned down the chance to extend his contract at Leicester this summer and instead decided to join Rangers, who have recently returned to the Scottish Premiership.

Ranieri claims that the striker's decision to make the move to another club has shown his maturity and wishes his former player "all the best" at his new team.

"With us, he was a young player. Now he has a new manager, new fans – everything has changed. With us, he was a boy. Now he is a man," Ranieri told reporters. "When he played with me he scored goals and moved very well in training sessions. His life has changed now – I hope he succeeds and I wish him all the best."

Dodoo had been with Leicester since 2008, but only made one Premier League appearance for the Foxes.
