Report: Juventus targeting Ever Banega

Juventus are reportedly preparing a January swoop for Sevilla midfielder Ever Banega, who is currently locked in contract talks with his current club.

The 27-year-old has emerged as a key player for Sevilla since joining the Europa League winners from Valencia in 2014.

The Argentine is still on the same contract that he signed upon joining, however, and although talks are progressing, no agreement is currently in place.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus are closely monitoring proceedings and will make a move next month if they receive the green light.

Banega and his agent Marcelo Simonian have both previously insisted that the midfielder wants to sign a fresh contract with his current club.

Everton are also believed to be keeping a close eye on developments.
