Juventus boss hails "memorable season"

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has hailed his side's title-winning campaign as a "memorable season".

The Old Lady clinched their fifth straight Serie A crown after closest rivals Napoli were beaten 1-0 by Roma.

A title challenge looked unlikely for the Turin outfit last October, when they lay in 12th place in the table, 11 points from the summit.

However, 24 wins and one draw out of their next 25 matches saw them complete a meteoric rise to the top.

"It has been a memorable season," BBC Sport quotes Allegri as saying.

"Everybody thought we had no chance after our bad start, when many thought the club should have sacked me. We did very well to react after that poor start, winning 24 games out of 25 is almost impossible, but we did it."

Juve paved the way for their fifth league win in a row at the weekend when they won 2-1 at Fiorentina.
