Inter Milan announce appointment of Frank de Boer as new head coach

Frank de Boer appointed Inter Milan boss

Inter Milan have announced the appointment of Frank de Boer as the club's new head coach on a three-year deal.

The Serie A club moved swiftly after parting company with Roberto Mancini on Monday.

De Boer, who came close to taking over at Tottenham Hotspur in 2014, will arrive at San Siro almost three months after he ended a six-year spell in charge of Ajax.

The Dutchman was linked with the managerial vacancy at Everton earlier in the summer before it was filled by his fellow countryman Ronald Koeman.

Now, he will take the reins at Inter, where he will be officially unveiled in a press conference this afternoon.

De Boer won 15 trophies as a player across spells at Ajax and Barcelona, and as a manager guided his team to four back-to-back Eredivisie titles.
