Hull City and West Ham United met in the sixth week of the Premier League season at the KC Stadium.

The Tigers were coming into the game on a high following a comeback victory over Newcastle United last week, while the Hammers were coming from an opposite point of view after falling to defeat against Everton.

It was Steve Bruce's side who came out victories as first-half penalty from Robbie Brady was enough to secure them all three points.

Check out how all the action unfolded in our commentary below.

2.08pmGood afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Hull City and West Ham United at the KC Stadium.

2.10pmThe Tigers are entering the game on a high following their victory over Newcastle United at St James' Park last week, as they came from behind to snatch a 3-2 victory to move to 11th in the table.

2.11pmWest Ham are coming off a similar game to Steve Bruce's side, however, they were on the receiving end of a comeback as they fell to a 3-2 defeat to Everton at Upton Park. Romelu Lukaku scored a late winner for the Toffees to hand the Hammers their second defeat of the season.

2.12pmThe teams have just been announced and we'll start with the home side.

2.13pmHULL CITY STARTING XI: McGregor, Rosenior, Figueroa, Davies, Faye, Huddlestone, Livermore, Elmohamady, Brady, Aluko, Graham.

2.14pmHULL CITY SUBS: Harper, Bruce, McShane, Boyd, Quinn, Sagbo, Meyler.

2.15pmWEST HAM STARTING XI: Jaaskelainen, Reid, Nolan, Tomkins, Jarvis, Rat, Maiga, Morrison, Noble, O'Brien, Diame

2.16pmWEST HAM SUBS: Adrian, Taylor, Collins, Demel, Downing, Petric, Vaz Te.

2.18pmSteve Bruce has made two changes to his side that beat Newcastle last week. James Chester is injured and misses out while Stephen Quinn drops to the bench. In come Maynor Figueroa and Abdoulaye Faye to replace them in the lineup.

2.20pmSam Allaryce has made just on the change from his side's defeat to Everton as James Tomkins replaces James Collins at centre-back. Meanwhile, Stewart Downing returns to the bench along with Guy Demel.

2.24pmSTAT ATTACK! Hull striker Danny Graham will be looking to hit the back of the net for the first time in the Premier League in over 1,320 minutes of action.

2.28pmSTAT ATTACK! This news will please Greg Dyke! The Hammers are the only team in the Premier League to have their all their goals scored by English players this season.

2.33pmA quick look on how each side will lineup in their respective formations this afternoon!

2.35pmBruce will be heading into this fixture with a 4-4-2 formation with Aluko and Graham leading the line up front. Jake Livermore and Tom Huddlestone will occupy the central midfield spots, while Robbie Brady and Ahmed Elmohamady start on the left and right wing respectively. Abdoulaye Faye will slot in at centre-back alongside Curtis Davies leaving Rosenior and Figueroa in the full-back positions.

2.38pmWest Ham will start with a 4-5-1 formation as Modibo Maiga starts up front on his own. However, expect Kevin Nolan to be playing just behind him in the hole. Mark Noble and Mohamed Diame will occupy the central midfield spots, while Ravel Morrison and Matt Jarvis will start on the wings. James Tomkins will slot inside at centre-back with Winston Reid, which leaves the full-back slots for Joey O'Brien and Razvan Rat.

2.44pmThe battle in central midfield promises to be an entertaining one as Huddlestone and Livermore face Noble, Diame with the option of Nolan helping out as well. Whoever can win control of the middle of the field will go a long way in winning the match.

2.48pmThe last time these two teams met was in the Championship in the 2011-12 season. The Hammers won both clashes between the teams, that's a good omen for Allardyce's side this afternoon.

2.54pmThe teams are almost ready to come out onto the pitch so we should be underway at the KC Stadium shortly.

1 minWe're underway at the KC Stadium.

2 minDecent start to the game from the Hammers as they enjoy a lot of possession but everytime they play the ball into the box, Hull clear the danger with ease.

3 minA better delivery from O'Brien puts the Tigers under a little bit of pressure but before the ball can pinball around the six-yard box, Faye gets a big boot to it and clears.

4 minMcGregor has to move quickly as he is sold short on a back pass by Rosenior and he does well to boot the ball out of play with Maiga advancing on him.

6 minA slight opening down the right for the visitors is ended by a poor pass from Tomkins as he looked to find the run of O'Brien but he overhit his ball and it went out for a goal kick.

7 minBrady has a chance from a free kick 30 yards from goal but he blasts the ball straight into the wall and the Hammers clear for now.

8 minYELLOW CARD! Nolan goes into the book for a poor challenge on Rosenior as the ball went out to the full-back following the free kick and the midfielder went right through him. Referee Friend had no choice there.

10 minPENALTY TO HULL!! Friend awards a penalty to the hosts as O'Brien jumps with Brady and brings him down in the area.

12 minGOAL! Hull 1-0 West Ham (Brady)

12 minHull take the lead as Brady keeps his cool from the spot as he sends Jaaskelainen the wrong way and slots a left-footed effort into the bottom right-hand corner. A good spot kick.

14 minWest Ham are trying to get back into the game with a possession game using their five-man midfield but the Tigers are holding them back as they're finding no penetration in these early stages.

16 minNolan is walking a very fine line here as he commits another foul this time on Brady and gives away a free kick in his side's half, with the goalscorer to take it.

17 minBrady hits the free kick to near post where Livermore is there but he can't quite bring the ball under control and Tomkins wins the ball and clears the danger for now.

19 minHull are winning all the 50-50 battles all over the pitch. Rosenior raids forward from right back and knocks the ball too far in front of him but he pursues and wins a corner off Jarvis.

20 minCHANCE! Maiga has a chance to level but he fires a tame effort at McGregor after being put through on goal by Jarvis after he won the ball in midfield. That was a decent opportunity for the striker but he just didn't get any power on that shot.

21 minOFF THE LINE! The Hammers win a corner and Jarvis lifts a ball into the area and Tomkins heads at goal, his effort beats McGregor but Rosenior is on the line to clear it away. The review system is in effect and it shows the ball did not cross the line!

23 minStill danger for the hosts as Rat launches a long throw into the area from the left, Noble gets the ball on the edge of the area and goes to shot but Faye blocks his shot and clears the danger.

25 minWest Ham are struggling for rhythm in midfield and are clearly not at their best as Noble miscontrols the ball out of play. However, on the bright side for Allardyce, they're still a goal threat.

27 minReid does well for the Hammers as he gets in front of a dangerous cross from Brady and diverts the ball from the awaiting Graham in the area. He needed to make that intervention.

28 minCHANCE! West Ham go on the counter and Jarvis races down the left and puts a low cross for Maiga, who takes a touch but Faye is there to take the ball away just as he was about to shoot. Great defending.

30 minCHANCE! Hull hit back on a counterattack of their own as Elmohamady raids down the right and crosses for Graham, who chests the ball back to Alujo, who in turn feeds Brady. He takes a touch onto his right foot but has his effort deflected over by O'Brien. Good football from the hosts.

32 minCHANCE! Morrison gets down the right for the Hammers is delivery into the area is poor and Davies heads clear but only as far as Noble on the edge of the box, who drills a low volleyed effort but it goes just past the post.

35 minOFF THE BAR! Hull come so close to getting a second as Brady whips in a corner from the right and Davies gets a header away, which looks to be going into the bottom corner but Maiga gets back on the line and diverts it onto the bar and out for another corner.

36 minSAVE! Brady hits another dangerous cross into the area and Elmohamady beats his man at the near post and heads at goal but Jaaskelainen is there to palm his goalbound effort away. Great spell of pressure from the hosts.

38 minWest Ham try to respond to the pressure from the hosts as O'Brien gets down the right and whips a ball to the near post for the run of Maiga, but the striker just can't get his foot to the ball and McGregor collects.

42 minThe Hammers work the ball nicely between their midfield players in the congested middle area of the pitch and Noble does well to find the run of Rat on the left. He takes a touch in plenty of space but overhits his cross out of play with teammates waiting in the area. A poor delivery.

44 minSlow end to the half as both teams look like they're waiting for the whistle to blow.

45 minThere will be two minutes of added time.

45+2 minHALF TIME: Hull 1-0 West Ham

3.51pmHull take the lead into the half-time interval, as Brady's penalty separates the sides at the KC Stadium.

3.53pmSteve Bruce will be delighted with what he has seen from his side so far in this game and they could be further ahead if not for a good block on the line by Modibo Maiga and a good save from Jussi Jaaskelainen to deny Ahmed Elmohamady.

3.55pmThe Hammers haven't really been in the game but strangely enough could be level had Liam Rosenior not been on the line to stop James Tomkins's header, while Maiga has had a couple of half chances as well. There's a little bit of a platform for Sam Allardyce's side to build on here.

4.03pmThe teams are making their way back onto the field and we should be back underway shortly.

46 minWe're back underway at the KC Stadium.

47 minHull are straight on the attack again and win a corner down the right. Brady's delivery is good and into the middle but Tomkins gets to the ball and heads it clear.

49 minA decent spell of possession by the Hammers is ruined as they lose patience as they work the ball nicely in the midfield but Noble looks deep for the run of Jarvis and overhits his pass allowing McGregor to gather.

51 minPENALTY SHOUT! West Ham claim for a penalty as O'Brien lifts the ball into the area and Rosenior jumps and the ball looks to clip his hand on the way down but referee Friend waves play on.

53 minCHANCE! Hull have a good chance to break but Aluko can't find the run of Brady and West Ham hit them on the counter and Aluko beats Huddlestone in a foot race and knocks the ball back to Diame who blasts the ball at goal but McGregor makes the save.

56 minCHANCE! Aluko does well to create space for himself down the left and he fires an effort at goal but his shot goes just wide of the upright with Jaaskelainen beaten.

59 minSubstitution: Maiga is done for the day as he is replaced by Mladen Petric.

61 minCHANCE! Oh dear! It's not going right for Graham at the minute as he blazes a volley over from four yards out after Brady's free kick had beaten everyone in the area and landed to the striker at the back post. That was a bad miss.

63 minDiame does well to lift a cross into the box down the left for the Hammers and Jarvis brings the ball down but as he tries to get an effort away he's crowded out by the Hull defence.

65 minHull hit the Hammers on the counter and Elmohamady raids down the right and Livermore makes an excellent run from midfield but the Egyptian can't pick him out and he loses possession.

68 minOFF THE POST! Livermore hits the post with a crisp left-footed shot, which had Jaaskelainen beaten all ends up after Graham had done well to shake off the challenge of Tomkins to tee him up on the edge of the area.

70 minA half chance for the Hammers as Diame drifts down the left flank again and forces a cross into the area, which Nolan gets his head on but his effort goes harmlessly over the bar.

71 minCHANGES! Downing and Vaz Te come on for the Hammers to replace Jarvis and Diame, while Sagbo comes on for the hosts for Graham.

73 minMorrison is felled by a bad tackle by Livermore but referee Friend waves play on, much to the frustration of the midfielder and he lets his anger boil over as he shouts at Friend, which gets him booked.

75 minPENALTY SHOUT! West Ham are not going to like Friend after this game as he turns away a penalty shout after Livermore handles the ball in the penalty area but the referee awards a corner. The Hammers are furious and have every right to be.

77 minDowning makes a surge down the left and digs out a cross for Vaz Te, he takes a touch on the edge of the area but hits a tame effort at McGregor.

79 minCHANCE! West Ham are really upping the ante late in this game and O'Brien raids forward down the right and gets to the dead-ball line before whipping a cross to the area,
Davies gets a head on it but is goes only as far as Rat, who controls it on his chest but volleys over the bar.

81 minAluko has missed so many chances to pick out teammates today and he's done it again as he found space on the edge of the area and Huddlestone peeled off his man but the striker kept his head down and as a result lost possession.

83 minThe Hammers in a free kick as Livermore hauls down Vaz Te. The forward takes the set piece himself but can only lift his effort over the bar. That's not what the visitors needed.

86 minA scramble in the penalty area as Downing shoots but his effort is blocked, Petric tries to get a shoot away but he is crowded out by the Hull defence. Morrison works the ball back to Downing, who tries to lift a cross to the back post but it's too high and goes out for a goal kick.

89 minCHANCE! Morrison picks up the ball in midfield and uses his pace to surge into the left channel, he digs out a cross towards the penalty spot where Vaz Te is there to hit an overhead kick but McGregor saves comfortably.

90 minThere will be four minutes of added time.

90+2 minThe Hammers are just pumping the ball long and are hoping for the best and they get lucky as Davies miscues his header but as Nolan handles the ball as it falls to him inside the penalty area.

90+3 minA clash of heads late in the game between Rosenior and Vaz Te forces the right back off with blood coming from his forehead. There will be more time added here.

90+6 minBoth players are back on the field and McGregor clears downfield and there can only be seconds left in the game.

90+7 minFULL TIME: Hull City 1-0 West Ham United

4.57pmHull hang on in the second half to record back-to-back wins in the Premier League to move up to seventh in the Premier League thanks to Robbie Brady's penalty.

4.58pmWest Ham deserved a point for their efforts in the second half and were denied a clear penalty by referee Kevin Friend following a handball from Liam Rosenior, which will infuriate Sam Allardyce. It just wasn't his side's day today.

5pmSteve Bruce will be pleased with his team. They could have been better in the final third of the pitch as they should have killed the game off earlier, which allowed the Hammers to come into the match more in the second half. However, he will be delighted with the resilience shown and as they say, you earn your own luck.

5.04pmThanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. You can follow the next Premier League game of the day between Swansea City and Arsenal here, if not we'll see you next time. Until then, goodbye.
