Lucas Barrios says that it is not up to him whether he leaves Guangzhou Evergrande and moves back to Europe.

Guangzhou Evergrande striker Lucas Barrios has admitted that it is "complicated" for him to leave his club any time soon.

The 27-year-old joined the Chinese outfit from German champions Borussia Dortmund in May this year on a four-year contract, but has been linked with a move back to Europe.

"Those are rumours that have come up because some time ago I expressed my intention of leaving China," he told Radio ADN. "It's speculated that I'll return to Europe and that I'll join a big club, but that doesn't depend on me.

"Guangzhou Evergrande signed me six months ago, so the only way I can leave is if someone pays what they paid to sign me.

"I have three more years left on my contract so it's complicated to leave now."

Barrios has also been linked with his old club Colo-Colo.
