Liverpool rival United for Fulham youth Moussa Dembele?

Liverpool have been reported as rivals to Manchester United for the signature of Fulham's teenage striker Moussa Dembele.

The French youth international caught the attention of the Premier League champions after a brilliant performance in an Under-21 encounter last week.

Dembele has since been linked with a switch to Old Trafford by The Mirror, and the same source reports that Reds manager Brendan Rodgers also has scouts monitoring the former Paris Saint-Germain player.

It has also been rumoured that Martin Jol is keen to keep him at Craven Cottage in the short term,and has turned down several loan bids from Championship clubs.
