Report: Everton to consider Marcelo Bielsa as Roberto Martinez replacement

Report: Everton eye Marcelo Bielsa

Everton are reportedly keeping an eye on former Athletic Bilbao boss Marcelo Bielsa as current manager Roberto Martinez continues to feel the pressure.

The Merseyside outfit have had a disappointing season in the Premier League, despite having a squad full of internationals, including Romelu Lukaku, who has scored 25 goals in this campaign.

After Saturday's 1-1 draw with Watford at Vicarage Road, Everton dropped to 14th in the table with seven games left to play.

Martinez is feeling the heat from supporters after a handful of fans on Saturday unfurled a banner reading 'Martinez out' in the away end at Vicarage Road.

According to Goal.com, Everton may consider approaching ex-Argentina coach Bielsa, who has been out of work since leaving Marseille in August following a 15-month spell.

The report adds that Bielsa, who held talks with Swansea City in December, is interested in a move to the Premier League.
