Lukaku: 'Martinez relationship broke down'

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has revealed that the relationship between the players and manager Roberto Martinez broke down this season.

Martinez was sacked three days before the end of the campaign as the Toffees ended the season 11th in the Premier League table.

Lukaku, who has been linked with Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund, has revealed that Martinez lost the dressing room.

"The team did not perform at all," Sky Sports News quotes Lukaku as saying. "We won two of our last 11 games. When things are broken between the manager and the players, it become difficult.

"In my head, I know where I want to go but I'm keeping that to myself. You will know when it is concluded. I have to make a good choice but in my head that has happened already.

"I have played in England for five years now, it's my league. But there are other nice clubs. I follow Spanish and German football and I also have something for the Italian league."

Lukaku scored 25 goals for Everton this season.
