Everton's Seamus Coleman hopes EFL Cup blip does not affect Premier League form

Everton full-back Seamus Coleman is hopeful that the team can get back on track in the Premier League after their third-round EFL Cup exit.

Everton full-back Seamus Coleman has claimed that the team will try to maintain their unbeaten run in the Premier League after getting knocked out of the EFL Cup last night.

Ronald Koeman's side lost their first game of the season as Championship club Norwich City ran out 2-0 winners at Goodison Park in the third round of the competition.

In the league, the Toffees have recorded one draw and four wins, including triumphs against West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City, Sunderland and Middlesbrough.

"We wanted to have a good run in the cup and came into the game full of confidence," The Mirror quotes Coleman as saying. "When you lose a game it's always disappointing, but we've got to look forward to Bournemouth and get on with it.

"We've had a great start in the league and long may it continue. A few of the lads will come back in, which will be good, and hopefully we can come away from there with three points."

Everton are currently second in the league table, two points behind leaders Manchester City.
