Seamus Coleman happy if Republic of Ireland face England at Euro 2016

Seamus Coleman hopes that Republic of Ireland end up facing England at the upcoming European Championships, with the defender relishing his country's chances.

Republic of Ireland defender Seamus Coleman has said that it "would be great" if his country end up facing England at next year's European Championships.

The draw for next summer's Euros will be held in Paris next Saturday and Coleman fancies his chances against his neighbours from across the Irish Sea.

"It is no problem getting England," the Everton player told the Daily Star. "We have played them twice in the last couple of years and drew with them twice. England probably wouldn't enjoy playing us.

"It would be great if we could get them and history repeated itself but we are just delighted to be in the draw. It was great to qualify against Bosnia. Such a great feeling.

"Obviously they have got some good players and that but they are in the first pot so we are going to be facing all good teams."

France, Spain, Germany, Portugal and Belgium join England in the first pot of the draw.
