Former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini 'having medical at Crystal Palace'

Former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini is reportedly undergoing a medical with Crystal Palace ahead of a free transfer.

Former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini is reportedly undergoing a medical ahead of a free transfer to Crystal Palace.

Eagles manager Alan Pardew confirmed interest in the 32-year-old earlier this week after the club failed to land their deadline-day targets.

Palace attempted to sign Jack Wilshere from Arsenal on loan, but the England international opted to join Bournemouth, while their reported interest in James McCarthy came to nothing as the midfielder stayed at Everton.

Now, according to Sky Sports News, Flamini is on the verge of moving to Selhurst Park as he is undergoing a medical this afternoon.

Flamini became a free agent in the summer after leaving Arsenal following his second spell at the Emirates.

The Frenchman spent seven years with the Gunners across two stints, and he has also played for Marseille and AC Milan.
