Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri: 'N'Golo Kante's future is in his own hands'

Ranieri: 'Kante will decide his own future'

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has claimed that N'Golo Kante is in control of his own future amid reports that Chelsea are interested in the midfielder.

The France international played a pivotal role in the Foxes' historic Premier League title-winning campaign last season.

As expected, Kante's performances have attracted interest from a handful of clubs, one of which is believed to be Chelsea.

Ranieri has confirmed that the midfielder was offered a new deal before heading to the European Championships with the France national team, but the player himself is yet to make up his mind.

"We offered Kante a new deal before he went to the Euros," ITV Sport quotes Ranieri as saying. "Now I know there are a lot of big teams interested. It's in his hands."

Kante, who has not yet joined up with his teammates for pre-season training following his participation at Euro 2016, signed for the Foxes from Caen for £5.6m last summer.
