Conte backs Batshuayi to make "impact"

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has claimed that summer signing Michy Batshuayi will make an "impact" at Stamford Bridge.

The 22-year-old is Conte's first capture since the Italian was appointed as Jose Mourinho's successor.

Batshuayi completed his move to the Premier League club from Marseille for a fee in the region of £33m.

In his first official press conference as Chelsea manager, Conte told reporters: "Absolutely I think Michy can make an impact because he is a young player but very strong, with good technique.

"He uses two feet. He is a great talent. I am very happy that Batshuayi is with us and I know the club bought a great player for the present and the future."

The striker scored 17 goals in Ligue 1 last season.
