How Chelsea could line up against Brighton & Hove Albion

Ahead of Saturday's Premier League game between Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion, Sports Mole looks at how the Blues could line up at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea play host to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon still looking for their first top-flight win at home this season.

While Frank Lampard would have been relieved to see his side record a 7-1 triumph over Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup, the Blues boss will acknowledge that he is under pressure to deliver three points in the league at Stamford Bridge.

However, the club legend has plenty of dilemmas to contend with regarding his starting lineup, as a result of injuries to his defence and players concluding their comebacks after time spent in the treatment room.

Here, Sports Mole predicts how the West Londoners may line up for the showdown with the Seagulls.



CHEXI VS. BHA

Out: Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Achilles), Emerson Palmieri (thigh), Antonio Rudiger (groin)
Doubtful: Andreas Christensen (knee),

Despite completing 90 minutes in midweek after ankle and Achilles operations, neither Reece James nor Callum Hudson-Odoi is expected to be risked at the weekend.

The same mindset could also apply to Andres Christensen, with the defender having sustained a knee injury during last week's match with Liverpool.

Kurt Zouma should replace the Dane in the centre of the backline, while left-back Marcos Alonso will come in for Emerson Palmieri after the Italy international suffered a recurrence of a thigh problem.

Having been rested on Wednesday night, N'Golo Kante should be available to take his place in midfield alongside Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic, with Willian and Mason Mount getting the nod on the flanks.

Lampard has been full of praise for Michy Batshuayi, who netted twice in the demolition of Grimsby, but Tammy Abraham will come back into the team at the weekend.
