Duchatelet agrees deal for Charlton?

Belgian millionaire Roland Duchatelet has agreed a deal to purchase Championship club Charlton Athletic, the Daily Mail reports.

Duchatelet, who already owns Standard Liege, has reportedly paid around £14m for the London club in what the newspaper says is a cut-price deal.

The Addicks were the subject of interest from American sports franchise owner Josh Harris, but that prospective bid failed during due diligence.

Kevin Cash, a London property developer, had withdrawn his funding of the club, which increased the need for a swift takeover.

Charlton are currently 19th in the league.
