Rhoys Wiggins joins Birmingham City on loan from Bournemouth

Bournemouth defender Rhoys Wiggins joins Birmingham City on loan until January, with the option to extend it until the end of the season.

Bournemouth defender Rhoys Wiggins has joined Birmingham City on loan until January.

The 28-year-old moved to the Cherries on a two-and-a-half-year deal last January, but failed to make a single Premier League appearance for the club during their debut campaign in the top flight.

The full-back, who has now had four separate stints at Dean Court, will spend the first half of the 2016-17 season with Birmingham, who have the option to extend the loan until the end of the campaign should they so desire.

Wiggins becomes Birmingham's second Premier League loan signing of deadline day after they brought in Lukas Jutkiewicz from Burnley.

Wiggins, a former Wales Under-21 international, will wear the number 12 shirt at St Andrew's.
