Mings: 'Injury woe made me better person'

Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings has claimed that his year-long injury hell has made him a "better person".

The 23-year-old made his return to action at the weekend during a friendly against AC Milan.

Mings, who joined the Cherries from Ipswich Town last year, spent 12 months on the treatment table after suffering a knee injury six minutes into his Premier League debut last August.

"I have learnt a lot mentally and physically, I'm probably in a better place," Mings told BBC Radio Solent. "It's nice to be back in the fold, back playing and injury-free.

"There was a lot of two steps forward one step back throughout the process, but I would not change it for the world and for the experience I'm probably a better person for it."

Mings will hope to earn a place in the Bournemouth squad for this weekend's league match against West Bromwich Albion.
