Borussia Dortmund sign Mikel Merino from Osasuna

Borussia Dortmund sign Spain Under-19 international Mikel Merino on a five-year deal.

Borussia Dortmund have announced that they have secured the signature of Mikel Merino from Osasuna.

The Spain Under-19 international will finalise the transfer on July 1 after Dortmund failed to agree a deal in the January window.

It is believed that the two clubs have now agreed on a €5m (£3.8m) fee for Merino, who has agreed a contract that will run until the summer of 2021.

"Mikel is one of Spain's biggest talents," said sporting director Michael Zorc. "We are very happy to have completed his transfer for next season."

Merino has featured 12 times for Spain's U19s.
