Agent: 'Ezequiel Garay close to Zenit St Petersburg switch'

Ezequiel Garay's agent has claimed that the Argentine defender is on the verge of signing for Zenit St Petersburg.

The Benfica centre-back, who is currently on international duty at the World Cup with Argentina, had previously been linked with a switch to Manchester United.

However, according to his representative Rafael Zurro, the 27-year-old will soon be confirmed as a Zenit player.

"The deal will be finalised without any problem, there will be news between Wednesday and Thursday," Zurro told Ole.

It has been reported that Zenit will part with £15m to land the defender.
