Medhi Benatia plays down Bayern Munich exit talk

Bayern Munich defender Medhi Benatia brands rumours linking him with a move away from the Allianz Arena "completely false".

Bayern Munich defender Medhi Benatia has insisted that he is not looking to leave the Allianz Arena.

The Moroccan international has been with Bayern since August 2014, when he made the move from Roma.

A succession of injuries over the last 12 months have seen Benatia's career stall, but the 28-year-old has branded rumours linking him with a move away from Bayern "completely false".

"Unfortunately, I have had a lot of injury problems since I came to Germany. Things like that happen in football," Benatia told Almarssad Pro. "I am not thinking about leaving Bayern Munich anytime soon.

"The rumours suggesting I could leave in light of the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti next season are completely false. I am only thinking about finishing this season with Bayern and winning the Bundesliga and Champions League."

Injury has restricted Benatia to just 13 appearances for his German club this season.
