Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara has claimed that Manchester United did not try to sign him, and that Barcelona did not do enough to keep him.
United were heavily linked with the Spanish youngster, before he eventually swapped Camp Nou for Germany.
He denies claims by his father and agent that he was in talks with United and reveals that he wanted to feel valued by Barca.
"Nobody from Manchester United spoke to us," Thiago told Rac1. "Bayern were always my first option.
"During the summer I had a lot of patience. I was waiting and waiting [for Barca to make an offer] but there comes a [stopping] point.
"I wanted to feel valued. I wanted to leave and the club didn't do anything to make me stay."
Thiago played in yesterday's friendly between Bayern and his former club Barcelona.
