Bernardo Silva delighted with Barcelona rumours

Bernardo Silva says that he is "very happy" with reports linking him with a move to Barcelona and admits that his ambition is to "play for a big club".

Monaco midfielder Bernardo Silva has said that he is "very happy" to be linked with a move to Barcelona.

The 20-year-old has been the subject of reports suggesting that he could move to Camp Nou next season, following an impressive showing in the European Under-21 Championship for Portugal.

"[Links to Barca] are just rumours, but it's also a situation that makes me very happy about the work that I've done," he told Marca.

"Clearly, the objective in the career of any player is to one day play for a big club like [Barca], and hopefully I can do so.

"Sure [I think about La Liga], but right now I'm a Monaco player and I have a contract until 2019."

Silva joined Monaco on a permanent basis in January from Benfica, following a loan spell.
