AZ and Willem II have played out a goalless draw in Sunday's Eredivisie clash at the AFAS Stadion.

The hosts were first to threaten as Dabney dos Santos bore down on goal early on, but goalkeeper Kostas Lamprou was able to pull off the save.

Lesly de Sa then came within a whisker of opening the scoring for Willem II when he struck the crossbar in the 24th minute.

Following the break, Jop van der Linden's long-range strike forced another finger-tip save from Lamprou, while Mattias Johansson fired over moments later.

Ultimately neither side could break the deadlock and both had to be content with a point apiece.
