Aly Cissokho leaves Porto to return to Aston Villa

Porto claim that Aston Villa have recalled Aly Cissokho from his season-long loan, although he cannot play until January for the Premier League side.

Porto have announced that Aly Cissokho has been recalled from his loan spell by the Premier League's bottom side Aston Villa.

The left-back, who initially joined Porto on a season-long deal in August, will join up with former manager Remi Garde, now at Villa, but cannot play until January.

Cissokho played under Garde at Lyon and could become Villa's first-choice left-back when he is able to feature again next month.

Villa lost Jordan Amavi to a season-long injury last month and neither Leandro Bacuna nor Kieran Richardson appears set for a regular role under Garde.

Cissokho, who joined Villa from Valencia in the summer of 2014, managed just three appearances in all competitions for Porto.
